일단 X11 의 preference 에 붙이기가 enable 돼 있어야 하고
마우스로 복사할 스트링 부분을 선택하고 (이때 자동으로 복사되고), 붙일 때는 alt-click 하면 된다.

ps. for Mac OS X 10.8.2 and XQuartz, in addition to the above
preference > input > check "emulate three button mouse" to enable alt-click
